The Grand Opening for the Palazzo in Las Vegas.
The $1.8 billion Palazzo hotel and casino had it’s grand opening last week. The Palazzo is the first major hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Boulevard since the Wynn Las Vegas opened in April 2005.
The 50-story, 3066-room Palazzo has a European flair to it and it’s the most prominent buildings on the boulevard.
The Palazzo’s sister hotel The Venetian and the Palazzo’s retail area meet at an Octagonal, domed atrium. The patrons of the Palazzo can use the Venetian’s amenities, such as the swimming pool.
The 7,000 guest rooms in the two hotels differ in style but the layouts are similar. All 7,000-guest rooms are720 square feet of luxurious suites. Each suite has a 32-inch flat-screen TVs in the bedroom and living room in the bathroom including a 17-inch LCD in the bathroom. The windows are from the floor to the ceiling with a remote control to shades and curtains, a king size plush bed, a pull out sofa, wireless Internet and a marble and granite bathroom with separate shower and tub and double sinks.
The going rate for a suite is from $230.00 a night a to $330.00 on weekends. To guarantee a view of the strip from your window, it could cost the guest extra from anywhere from $40 to $50 per night.
Just like it’s big sister, the Palazzo will also have a Canyon Ranch Spa Club for workouts. When the pool opens up in the spring, it will be 5 stories up and will over look the strip.
The patrons of the hotel will have selections of the top of the line restaurants to choose from.
For entertainment, The Tony Award-winning Jersey Boys are scheduled to perform in April. Top Designers around the world will be having their upscale boutiques at the Palazzo including Diane Von Furstenberg, Jimmy Choo and Australian Jeweler Canturi.
